Position:       Architectural Intern            
 
Job Duties:   Perform Architectural services such as design sketches, feasibility studies, design programming, schematic designs, space planning, interior designs, construction documents and CAD productions under architects’ supervision.  Render perspectives using Computer Aided Design (CAD), AutoCAD, Studio Viz, SketchUp or conventional method. Scale models for building studies and presentations.  Prepare technical designs, civil designs and plans using computer aided drafting (CAD).  Develop cost estimates, contracts, bid documents and technical reports for projects under engineers’ supervision.  Coordinate structural, electrical and mechanical designs and determine presentation methods to represent building plans.  Analyze building codes, space and site requirements, soil survey maps and other technical documents to determine their effect on architectural designs.  Coordinate the work of draftsmen and technicians on construction projects. Assist engineers on construction sites, ensuring contractor compliance with specifications and advising technical corrections and changes, under engineers’ supervision.

Required

Skills:        Knowledge of AutoCAD and 3D Studio Viz 3.  Knowledge of Roof Technology including bitumen membranes, built-up and modified bitumen membranes and flashing systems.
 
Education:  Bachelor Degree in Architecture or related major.

Experience: 24 months in the job offered or as a Project Designer, Junior Architect, or related occupation.
Any suitable combination of education, training, and experience is acceptable.  Foreign  academic equivalence acceptable.
 
Hours:       Forty (40) hours per week

Licensed Geotechnical Engineer / Geologist


Firm is a professional engineering corporation performing geotechnical engineering projects. The primary area of emphasis is forensic evaluation of suspected sinkholes for clients in the insurance industry. The Firm is looking for a strong candidate to serve as Project Engineer in charge of forensic engineering evaluation projects. The best, most qualified candidate will possess the specific experience of this field. The majority of the project assignments will be in the West-Central Florida and Central Florida areas, although assignments will, at times, be located elsewhere throughout the state. This job opportunity provides an excellent salary, commensurate with experience.

General requirements: "This position requires a licensed Professional Engineer"
At least 5 years experience in geology/geotechnical engineering is required.
Specific experience in forensic (sinkhole) evaluation/geotechnical engineering is preferred.

Specific skills:

- Excellent skills in WRITING REPORTS for Forensic Geotechnical Explorations.
- Must be technically superior with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Has knowledge of soil classification and laboratory testing of soils.
- Experienced in preparation of boring logs, site plans and repair plans.
- Skilled in development of repair (grouting/underpinning) plans and specifications.
- Knowledgeable in creating spread sheets and graphic presentations.
- Performing engineering analyses.
- Knowledge of field work methods/SOPs.
- Experience with performing and interpreting ground-penetrating radar a plus.

Additional Requirements:
- Can type at least 50 WPM
- Work location is in Ocoee, Florida
- Must have good communications, people and team-building skills.
- Able to work in fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or legal to work in the U.S.
- Must possess driver’s license and dependable transportation.
